Creating a Collaboration

This guide explains how to create a collaboration with a content creator.

Automatic creation from outreach replies

When a creator replies to your outreach email within the same email thread, the platform automatically creates a collaboration and links the email thread to it. This happens in the background during email sync — you'll see the collaboration already created when you open the Inbox or the campaign's Collaborations tab.

This is the most common path: send outreach → creator replies → collaboration is auto-created → negotiate terms in the platform.

The auto-created collaboration starts in Negotiating status and is linked to the same campaign that the outreach was sent from. The creator is also automatically added to Creator Tracking so the platform can detect their future content.

Limitation

Auto-creation only works when the creator replies within the original outreach thread. If a creator composes a brand-new email (instead of replying), the platform cannot associate it with the original outreach and will not auto-create a collaboration. In this case, you can manually create one from the Inbox — see Manual creation from the Inbox below.

TIP

You can configure notifications for auto-created collaborations in your notification preferences. This way you'll be alerted whenever a creator responds and a new collaboration is created.

Manual creation

You can also create collaborations manually at any time — for example, when a creator responded outside the platform or when you want to track a pre-existing partnership.

From the form

You can create a collaboration from the Collaborations list or from a Campaign's Collaborations tab.

  1. Navigate to Collaborations in the sidebar, or open a campaign and go to the Collaborations tab.
  2. Click New Collaboration.
  3. Fill in the collaboration details:
    • Campaign — Link the collaboration to a specific campaign. Only your active campaigns are shown.
    • Creator — Search and select the creator from your Creator Pool.
    • Cost — The agreed total cost for the collaboration. You can also choose the currency (defaults to USD). This feeds into CPM calculation for the campaign.
    • Post count — The expected number of posts the creator will deliver (defaults to 1).
    • Tags — Optional labels for organizing and filtering collaborations.
    • Email thread — If the selected creator has an email on file, you can optionally link an existing email thread to this collaboration. This enables the AI to auto-extract deal terms from the conversation later.
  4. Click Create to save the collaboration.

New collaborations start in Negotiating status by default. You can advance or change the status as the partnership progresses through the collaboration lifecycle.

INFO

Each creator can only have one collaboration per campaign. If a collaboration already exists for the selected creator in the chosen campaign, the creation will fail with a duplicate error.

From the Inbox

When viewing an email thread in the Inbox, you can click Create Collaboration to create one directly linked to that thread. This is especially useful when auto-creation didn't trigger (e.g., the creator sent a new email instead of replying to the original thread).

The platform will:

  1. Match email participants to your Creator Pool — It scans the email addresses in the thread and matches them against creators in your pool. If a match is found, the creator is pre-selected for you.
  2. Show unmatched emails — If a participant email doesn't match any existing creator, you'll see it listed as unmatched. You can use the Quick Add feature to import the creator on the fly by entering their social media platform and handle. The creator will be added to your pool and their profile will be enriched in the background.
  3. Select a campaign — Choose which campaign to link the collaboration to.
  4. Set deal terms — Optionally enter the cost and currency.

The collaboration is created and the email thread is automatically linked to it.

TIP

You can create a collaboration for any creator in your Creator Pool, even if the initial contact happened outside the platform.

Linking collaborations to campaigns

Every collaboration must be linked to a campaign. This allows you to:

  • View all collaborations for a campaign in one place.
  • Track campaign-level metrics across all collaborations.
  • Manage outreach and collaborations together within the campaign context.
  • Include creator content in Campaign Analytics for ROI calculation.
